Endermologie®
Endermologie® is a one-of-a-kind technique to treat cellulite, administered with specialized non-invasive instruments by an LPG
1 Certified Technician. The technician maneuvers a hand-held extension of the LPG therapeutic
massager that combines gentle suction and activated rollers to lift and stimulate cellulite-impaired tissues (see diagram below). Through a series
of individualized treatment sessions, Endermologie® effects remarkable improvements in patient skin tone, body contours, and cellulite appearance.
Recognizing its efficacy, Dr. Michelson provides this therapy in the comfortable setting of his Cosmetic, Aesthetic, and Anti-Aging Center.
There, patients who have experienced Endermologie® liken the session to an incredible invigorating massage–but it is so much more.
While many factors can lead to the formation of cellulite 2, Endermologie® directs change through a factor
that is key to restoring skin smoothness–microcirculation. Microcirculation implies a robust movement of blood and lymph through minute semipermeable
vessels that allows a normal interchange of body fluids; when reestablished in subcutaneous tissues, microcirculation can:
- Reduce the volume of fluid retention.
- Signal hypertrophic adipocytes (enlarged fat cells) to return to normal size, possibly by: normalizing fluid characteristics and quantities, and normalizing
hormone levels in treated tissues.
- Eliminate the deformation of septa (strands of connective tissue), perpendicular to the skin's surface, caused by transverse pressure from retained fluid
and hypertrophic adipocytes (both situated between septa). (See diagram below.)
These changes improve the typical orange-peel appearance of cellulite: unaltered septa no longer pull the skin downward at their superficial (near the surface)
anchor points; normal-sized adipocytes no longer push up from below the skin. The temporary increase in microcirculation that each Endermologie® treatment provides
can last up to a few hours after each session, and patients usually start to see a noticeable improvement after eight to ten sessions. Optimum results are generally
obtained after fifteen to twenty treatments. Thereafter, one monthly treatment is recommended to sustain your smoother skin and pleasing body contour.

2Some factors that contribute to the formation of cellulite include a genetic predisposition, hormonal variances in
subcutaneous tissues, and feminine anatomy. [In women, the subcutaneous fat layer is organized into storage chambers whose longer sides are perpendicular
to the skin's surface. Septa (strands of connective tissue) line the longer sides, but not the shorter sides parallel to the skin's surface.
This chamber orientation allows retained fluid and hypertrophic adipocytes to bulge upward from beneath the skin.]
